After a few weeks of working from home, can you say that you are more productive with this setup vs going to the office? Or there are more distractions if you wfh? But we save time wasted during commute rin eh so
Kami ni @karl we do both eh. We go to the office 1-3x a week for about 3-4 hours (habang nasa school ang kids) or sa coffeeshop, then a bit of work pa rin sa bahay.
I have been working from home since 2012, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. hindi ko na kailangan mag-commute, mag-isip ng susuotin ko, at mag-alala na ma-late.
I started doing writing jobs and social media management via Odesk noon, Upwork na tawag now. But since 2014, I began teaching English online to mostly Japanese students, and ayun, I love the job so much! O baka may gusto rin, puwede siyang maging sideline kasi super flexi. Sabi nga, PM is the key.
To be honest, I think I’m more productive in the office Though sanay naman na kami sa remote work since option na siya samin dati pa. It really helps when you can stay home to do chores or take care of personal stuff.
Ang mahirap lang kasi ngayon ay biglaan yung ECQ so some of my teammates were not able to prepare for a remote home setup (no stable home internet connections, webcams, microphones, etc) so we’re still in the chaotic phase. Mercifully, I get to influence some of the policies so we did away with the daily video calls and work mostly asynchronously now. NagzoZoom na lang kami about once or twice a week for decision making. Oh and daily Zoom hangouts kung saan bawal mag-usap about work and we discuss random stuff
I am loving it so far. I actually find time to be active and manage stress effectively. I think my productivity which was through the roof before is just about the same. Mas may time lang for other stuff like reading, writing, reflecting. Sa office kasi I get pulled everywhere.
So help me god.
Ako productive sa kusina! ;p
But seriously the bulk of my work when I’m not teaching or traveling is boring admin work. Archiving, editing videos, layouts and writing for the social media outlets
Huhu snacks at social media distractions. Nakakamiss rin pala pag nasa office.
I really need to be strict sa work life balance. It’s taking a toll on my mental health.
I can work from home when I absolutely need to, pero wala naman masyadong need before kasi 5mins away lang yung office so pasok nalang.
So in a way, kahit holiday ngayon, parang di ko pa din maramdaman unlike before.
I can say na sa biglang WFH, biglang lumabas ang need for instant Zoom meetings . In a way, magiging stressful 'to for workaholics. Pag gising mo pa lang, fight na. Best thing is to stick to a routine. Hahaha
4 weeks na kaming WFH sa full-time job ko and so far, ok lang naman. Nasasanay na ibalanse ang part-time na online job ko with the full-time. As to productivity, same lang naman but mas nakakasave lang siguro now na work from home.
I think people really need to learn to work asynchronously na and reserve meetings for really important things. Hindi rin kasi normal yung conditions ngayon. People have to take care of kids or parents or whoever at home. Or hindi ganun ka-OK home conditions nila. Nakakastress din ang maraming video calls
Oo nga eh. Yung socialization talaga sa office ang nakakamiss.
Yeah. This sucks. Masuwerte yung may mga malalaking condos or bahay.
In my case, hindi ready yung company namin for WFH arrangement.
Lalo na yung long-playing meetingsa face to face…pag nilipat mo to videocon…minsan parang gusto ko umutot ng loud and proud just to break the monotony. Good thing there’s a mute button. Nakakapagod din. Hoepfully, mag taper off na 'to.
