Common phrases used at your workplace

I get emails na ganyan from work. Mapapa :headscratch: ka.

Ours usually:
“Does that make sense?”
“I’ll be darned.”

May version nyan sa Malaysia, “boleh can”. Also “what to do, lah”

Ont:
kung kay @moonflower na ang BP ay blood pressure, sa amin ito ay briefing paper (binibigay sa mga amo when they have meetings, containing talking points sa mga topics ng pag-uusapan during the meetings)

“as requested/discussed, respectfully attached are the inputs for (topic)”
“for consideration and further instructions”
“enhancement of bilateral/multilateral relations”
“assistance to nationals”

Just a gentle reminder / soft reminder - inis na inis ako dito
How are you? - madalas di ko sure kung opening spiel or seryoso
Happy to note / happy to say - madalas masabi lang, di naman talaga happy

Dito sa work they use elevate instead of escalate. Never understood why though so I’ve never hopped on the bandwagon.

Old habits die hard, so i still use these phrases from my bpo days:
Fair enough…
Let’s park that question…
Using what he mentioned as a jump off point…

I’m guilty :embarasslaff: I’m the youngest in the roster (nationwide, i think?) and the older ones would always say, what was that? And i’d hafto explain it. Pero ngayon, they use it na rin :lol:

A gentle follow up please…

…as it was ploughed back into business

'putangina / tangina talaga ni _____" (usually yung credit committee member HAHAHAHA)

Sa local colleagues, medyo nakakaannoy mga shortcuts nila lalo na pag messaging.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned ang walang kamatayang “Noted”.

Again, may naalala na naman ako sa Malaysia. Their “thank you” is TQ. Chaka yung queue is Q (as in please Q to be allowed entry). also, their stamp is “chop”.

Lalo na pag papagalitan ka ng boss mo tapos ang sagot mo lang ay nakakabinging “noted” with matching :roll_eyes: habang sini-send mo yung reply email.

Sakli! I really think that gentle follow-up term is kinda twisted. Why does it have to be gentle? Di puwedeng “hi, may I viciously follow-up on your commitment to xxx?”

(SKL na mainit na ulo kasi di pa tapos sa trabaho :lol: even gentle follow-up becomes a trigger!)

Guilty ako sa Noted at Gentle follow up (mas mabait daw kasi pakinggan).:embarass:

Sabi sakin before, ang pwede lang magsabi ng “Noted.” ay boss. If subordinate ka, bawal mo daw ipangsagot yun sa boss. :dunno:

Favorite ko sinasabi kapag inspired ako is ‘we got the right armamentarium…’

I once sent a follow up email saying “The report was due yesterday - any plans of sending it today?”

I got reprimanded :embarasslaff: eh naremind mo na through call, text, messenger, email, wala pa rin, ako pa napagalitan??

Also, ako lang ba yung naiinis kapag literal na attachment lang sinend? Wala man lang body of email or konting overview? Ganito yung secretarya na minana ko eh.

Ako laging noted lang sagot ko sa mga messages ng boss ko sa gc namin haha! Dati nga nila like ko lang messages nya but she’s old school so gusto niya may reply per message so she knows daw that you read it (eh ganun din naman kapag nilike).

Natawa ako dito kasi it happened to me too. I was too harsh daw. :roll_eyes:

I did something similar pala kahapon to a supplier. I emailed, “I checked the tracking info you gave me and you said the shipment will arrive this week, it’s almost next week…just let me know.”

I got a call from the supplier wala pang 15 minutes since I sent the email. Nakakakaba daw yung “just let me know” ko. I think I picked this up from my boss and the management team sa HQ.

I use “Noted” for my “bosses” since my status is an “independent contractor” no issues

Diyan papasok yung gamit ng “gently” at “kindly” :wink:
