Best Road Trip Junk Food

I don’t know about you, but kapag sasabak ako sa mahaba-habang biyahe (more than 2 hours in the car), I start craving for something greasy, salty and just not healthy for you :smash:

What kind of food do you find yourself munching on road trips?

Skyflakes + Snowbear candy + Vicks pag kasama ko lola ko haha.
now, baon ko Doritos and Milanos cookies, Pringles na sour cream and onion. I also always get a hankering for drive-through: cheese burgers, fries, hot fudge sundae, chicken nuggets
Trail Mix.

Corn chips, pinoys-style adobo peanuts, donuts. Problem with eating in the car is you end up with food bits and grease everywhere. Particularly annoying if you are driving.

Pre-Covid, I always drive 1.45 hours to LA from where we live and back the next day - twice a week. Also driven to SF, which is a 5-hour trip one-way. Food is a must. Also, Nitro Cold Brew. Food ranges from fried chicken skin, various pastries, chicharon, VCut, and burgers. Pag pauwi from SF, custard tarts and dimsim from Chinatown. Haha.

Pag long road trips like Baguio, Batangas or LU I prepare hotdog sandwich, chips (Clover Chips, Piattos or Pringles), chocnut or any bite sized candy at maraming maraming tubig.

Lol!

@Skela96c No, husband hates eating in the car too. His car was pristine before he married me. He didnt even have a box of Kleenex in it kasi nga ayaw ng clutter. but now we use my car for roadtrips kasi mas malaki so I can have all the greasy food I want.

We bring a lot of junk food when we’re on road trips!! Yun ang excuse to eat them haha. I love Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream, Doritos Nacho Cheese, and Pringles Sour Cream (my boys like that too). Nung nasa Pinas, PiK-Nik, V-Cut, Clover Chips Cheese. If we score them from the nearby Filipino store, or Seafood City in Chicago, may mababaon kami. FYI, mas maarte pa ang boys ko kasi when they eat cheesy chichiria, they use paper towel so their fingers won’t get dirty daw…haha. We always have a roll of paper towel and wet wipes when we travel. Also, bags for our trash.

Sa road trips or long distance travel by bus, chips and fast-food galore. Maliban sa tubig, I always keep a bottle of coke with me for sips in between. Napansin ko Coke settles my stomach pag feeling queasy na ako.

Pag talagang long drive tapos summer vacation ito, aside from chips, nuts, chocolates, etc. nagbabaon din kami ng nilagang mani o kaya mais o saging. Meron din kaming fruits pag summer like siniguelas, singkamas o kaya manggang hilaw.

Sounds like crackets ang name. Alala nyo ba?

YES! Kapag galing kami ng SF, lots of dimsum from Chinatown! Dinner na rin namin yun. Hehe.

Ang galing! Naalala mo pa yung name. Napagoogle tuloy ako. Gusto ko rin yan dati! Yum! So parang egg flavored rice cracker? Hehe.

Hahahaha.
