Seriously, palagi naman namin siyang naiisip ibalik, pero di lang talaga namin maupuan ni @karldeleon together with @markku.

Started working on a vanilla forum based Peyups early Jan 2019 and had the oldies beta-test it. Discovered a lot of bugs and because it was malware prone, we took it down after a month rin. peyups 2019-01

On June 2019, @karldeleon tried exploring Discourse, as recommended by @markku. Busy ako niyan so… peyups 2019-06

Awesome! Pano pala sustainability plan dito? I mean servers aren’t free. Discourse also runs on Ruby so it’s not a simple PHP web host. Noticed ads on some topics, will that be the main funding source going forward? Or will we have like monthly fundraising activities? :laughing:

Nakakamiss yung no-post count view para mas ma-engage yung mga tao na magpost ng may katuturan rather than some random posts just to boost the status. Medyo sad nung nawala noon, I wanted to help, if there’s a way to import the previous one but I could imagine how big of a database it is! Pero since nagstart from scratch na rin, I guess better to have a clean slate.

Baka puwedeng parang Patreon. May mga tiers. I think kaya naman with our numbers. Or subscription. Heh. Though baka yung challenge pala ay pano siya hindi magdevolve into a caste system of paid at free users :laughing: I can only speak for myself but am willing to chip in for the hosting costs if it comes to it :slight_smile:

May bbPress versions pa tayo noon, merong stand-alone tapos meron din nung plugin based.

Sa sobrang dami nating na-try na forum software pwede na tayo maging “self-proclaimed experts” aka influencers in millenial-speak, hehehe.
