has anyone tried doing Turkish coffee? 1st time ko kanina. ansaya lang

Lol i put coffee in my milk :rotfl:

but when I do get coffee, I want espresso shots kasi yan lang nakakapagising sa akin talaga but nilunod sa gatas or half and half plus mga flavored creamers (usually hazelnut or yung white chocolate mocha from sbux) kasi ayoko malasahan yung kape  a friend told me i can get caffeine pills daw if all i want is the caffeine jolt.

But then pag nakakapagkape ako I behave like a drunken, jittery, jumpy, cant sit still person. More so pag instant. NKLN na instant coffee might have more caffeine than the brewed kind. Can a coffee aficionado confirm?

Instant coffee ang pinaka less caffeine, it must be the sugar.

@Halinaw I first tried Turkish coffee in 2011 via my Romanian friends. Gising buong gabi.

I had to make myself some again nung hindi na ako nag-BF sa baby ko because parenting challenges.

Nag-uwi kaming Turkish coffee and yung lutuan nila ng coffee nung nag Turkey kami.

Ok yung lutuan pero ayoko yung naiinom yung grounds. Ginamit ko Aeropress para sa Turkish coffee. Ok naman, much better.

Ngayong lockdown, nakabili kami ng Turkish coffee (buy one take one) dun sa isang Greek/Turkish online grocer/ resto The Feta.

Ang tamis rin kasi ng Turkish coffee sa Turkey. Gusto nila talaga madami asukal.

I brew at home! Not at connoisseur levels naman, I just use a french press for cold brew and hot brews from either a Vietnamese dripper or Moka Pot. Minsan nagpapa-foam ng milk for arte purposes. I buy beans from Commune to support Philippine coffee, minsan dun sa coffee stall sa SM Megamall Supermarket Bldg B. I usually drink with plant-based milk, and never with sugar.

herbal and balanced? coffee + tea?

@fretburner - hindi ko pa nabili yung beans. Baka next week bilhin ko na.

Cool. I’m running out of beans myself.

I’m thinking of selling out to Bo’s Coffee Highlands Blend. Can’t find beans outside Barako in the supermarkets I usually buy groceries from.

might not apply (for most of you)

pero ipo-post ko pa din :hahaha:

I love coffee–much much more than tea. We usually buy beans and then grind them every morning or the night before (yes, by hand  ). Weekdays (on home office), we use the French press. Weekends, we use the stove top espresso machine. If we have guests, we make brewed coffee via the coffeemaker.

We have a variety of beans (I tend to buy beans whenever I find something interesting, during travels or just here in Hamburg. Being a port city, there is a good choice of imported beans here and the coffee culture is just as strong as the beer culture.)

For pinas beans (we do have bags in stock here), do try the durian coffee at Casanova Cafe if you would ever find yourself in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. Also ask if they have durian roll. Or durian cheesecake.

Bukidnon beans I’d recommend:

  1. Hineleban (and the farmers themselves share the profit)
  2. Beanukid (Robusta, Arabica, or a mixed bag of beans; their 100% arabica cold brew is :aprub: )
  3. Monks’ Blend (Robusta-Arabica premium blend)
  4. Mirabueno (Robusta)

Where can I buy Mirabueno?

I think I want that Sagada dark roast. I’m a semi-sell out with these beans:

Not a big coffee person, but considering buying an Aeropress.

Also, question: How to brew without latak?

Black coffee ako! di ko na kasi malasahan yung difference pag may ibang halo.
I order beans sa mycoffeelab. enjoy yung madaming choices. So far, the best for me is Kenya and Costa Rica. I use french press pag solo lang, coffeemaker when with fam.

Coffee person here  pero puro instant Lang hehe. Parang ang hassle kasi pag you make it from scratch kaya dun na ako sa mabilisan  NescafƩ gold madalas kong gamitin no sugar, milk only, and I add konting chocolate powder :+1:

You should try Nescafe’s taster’s choice. Expensive, but so much better than Nescafe gold.
