Secret Ingredients

Oooh i love this thread! Tips galore!

At oo, wag daw agad hahaluin pagkalagay ng suka dahil papait. Im supposed to know the science, pero hindi ko maalala

This is useful. At dahil sa sinabi mong ito i finally figured out who you are, @Skela96c ! My first guess was wrong :embarasslaff:

Mine:

  1. French toast - use heavy cream instead of milk, challah or brioche for bread

  2. Champorado - my ultimate comfort food. I use real tableya always, half malagkit half regular white rice put a little salt (just a pinch), drizzle with heavy cream on top then serve it with crispy bacon. Super yummmy!

3 . box brownies
Use brewed coffee instead of just water, it brings out the chocolate flavor more
Use butter instead of oil

Beer or coke (not light or diet) as meat tenderizer. Marinate for at least an hour.

I have another tip: use chicken stock instead of water na pansabaw for cooking your rice na gagamitin mo sa fried rice.

THE ULTIMATE SINIGANG
I swear by this. Add a little bit of coconut milk to the broth, just enough to make the broth cloudy not too much na lasang ginataang baboy soup na sya. For aromatics tanglad/lemon grass is not to be beat. Add a tbsp sugar, and chopped red chilies. They all balance each other out beautifully. Sobrang sarap! Its still your classic sinigang with a thai twist.

Anong laman ng bouquet garni for nilaga marerecommend mo?

Agree! Steaks and roasts turn out really well if you rub some butter, tapos I leave a chunk on top when I leave in the oven

I do the same!

For my adobo, i usually do the slow cooking/boiling tapos i-pan sear ko ang meat after. This seals in the flavor.

Unahin palagi ang onion bago ang bawang kasi mas matagal maluto ang sibuyas

For sopas, i use cooking cream (or apc) instead of milk
