I just finished the last episode of Reply 1988 today. Dami kong iniyak! 
you certainly cant accuse it of being sentiment free. Ang ganda niya… made me so homesick of my own teenaged years and the time when my parents and grandparents were still “as big as mountains”.
Iniisip ko pa kung may panahon and energy ako iinvest sa other reply series. Are they as good as '88? Or balik muna ako sa episode 4 ng CLOY ang alam ko lang ay bibili ako ng toge at miso sa asian market tomorrow. Lol!

Hay nakakamiss ang mehhh sound! Funny how something i found so weird at first (1st time i heard a goat sound in a series)… turned into something I wanted to hear more of, says a lot about the creative minds behind the show, simpleng sound effect pero may dating!
Anyhoo, 1988 daw ang best among the Reply series, pero maganda pa rin ang 1994 and 1997, diko pa napanood. Nagcameo yung 1994 sa 1988, yung tumatakbo sa ulan yung girl at si “Trash.” Same creator din sila ng Hospital Playlist and Prison Playbook, kaya may mga crossover din daw

@abbymaria you can see a lot of common themes across all of them but 1988 had stronger emphasis on family and friendship (not just between the ssangmundong 5 but from the adults, too). mas napakita din yung diverse form of relationships. with 1997 and 1994, they seemed to focus more on the “husband hunt” and youth experience. plus sa 1988, lahat ng characters got their own time to shine. it had a longer running time din kasi. they’re all good though.
re 1988: sobrang iyak din ako sa finale. tsaka yung scene where sun woo went around the corner of their yard to eat his baon (with stray shells and rocks sa egg/rice) just so his mom won’t feel bad, surprise wedding, yung may pa-plaque ang sung siblings kay dad, when bora and dad read each other’s letters, yung di umabot si jung hwan sa concert (those red lights! grr) and of course, yung sincere turned “joke” confession scene (plus the flashback). 
i had some major withdrawal symptoms after ko sya matapos.

@aero It’s my first time to watch Hwang Jeung-eum. She’s so good that I am including her as one of my favorite Korean actresses. Mahusay siyang magdala ng linya at eksena. Story-wise, I think it’s not outstanding but both lead actors and Jeung-eum can compensate for any lack in the storytelling. 
Pwede ko itong ihilera sa Abyss at Strongest Deliveryman. Maganda pero may igaganda pa. Also, di pa tapos ang series so pwede ka pang humabol.
